Using the latest web technologies, World Wide School has 
created a collection of online multimedia courses that are 
lavishly illustrated and complete with animation and a high 
level of interactivity. Not just educational, informative 
and thought provoking, these courses are a great read and 
highly entertaining! 

Current titles are:

Sigmund Freud: Sigmund Freud's theories on the human psyche 
are still discussed in the psychiatric community today. Are 
they still valid? What's with the cigar? Get a chance to 
express your opinion as you learn about the father of 
psychoanalysis.

The Eyes of the Battle: See war through the eyes of a 
journalist as you learn about the history of war correspondence. 
In this fully interactive course you can develop film in the 
Virtual Darkrooms, travel back in time on the drag and drop 
Triple Timeline or take pictures on your own to share with 
other students.

Volcanoes: These ever changing and sometimes deadly mountains 
have been shaping our planet for millions of years. This course 
takes you inside these giants to see how they operate. You'll 
also have the chance to play scientist in a virtual hike as 
you lead an expedition through the aftermath of an eruption.

Express Yourself: What's "free speech?" How do we define 
what's inappropriate? Who should decide this? You can tackle 
these and many other tough questions regarding our rights in 
this course on censorship and freedom of expression. This 
course invites you to express yourself with many though 
provoking and interactive lessons.

Allow yourself a little bit of time to experience these courses 
as they are fairly extensive, particularly if you involve yourself 
in all the interactivity. A quick registration process provides 
free, unlimited access to these courses.

And just a couple of notes: you will need the latest browser 
versions and have javascript enabled to view these courses; 
and as the site is still in beta, you could experience a few 
bugs. (I went through both the Sigmund Freud and the Volcanoes 
courses and any bugs I encountered were far less annoying than 
the average mosquito, so don't let it stop you!)
